I am in blood Stepp’d in so far that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o’er. - William Shakespeare, Macbeth
There is a legend on the upper planes of the Fountain of Evergold, where the goddesses of beauty frolic and play. In mockery of that celestial spring and its magical balm, three Powers of the Waste have come together in a place they call the Poison Pool, a fountain of bile, blood, and poison; its circumference carved with hateful images and blasphemous runes. Here three spiteful and wicked goddesses meet to gossip, brew curses, and spin lies.Rumour says that anyone who catches the three goddesses together by the pool may ask of them a boon – but few would risk the dangers of such an endeavor for the dubious ‘help’ on offer - for the Poison Pool is shared by Ratri, Hecate, and Hel. They meet irregularly at the pool to brag of their achievements, taunt each other, and occasionally cooperate on some scheme - much to the jealousy of their neighboring Powers. Fellow Waste-Goddesses Shar and Cegliune are rarely on the guest list, much to their chagrin.
