Vacuum Element Creatures

Vacuum Element Creatures are most at home in the Quasi-elemental Plane of Vacuum or other similar places, they could also be found in the Negative Energy Plane or the Plane of Air. Their form resembles that of their material counterparts. They look like a barely visible void of blackness encased in a rubbery transparent skin, and their eyes glow with some dim light. These creatures are continually drawing air towards itself.

Creating a Vacuum Element Creature Vacuum element is an inherited template that can be added to any corporeal creature of the types: aberration, animal, dragon, fey, giant, humanoid, magical beast, monstrous humanoid, plant or vermin. A vacuum element creature uses all of the base creature’s stats unless otherwise noted. Do not recalculate the creature’s hit dice, BAB and so on.

Type: The creature’s type changes to elemental and it gains the air subtype.

Speed: A vacuum element creature has a fly speed of 40 with good maneuverability, unless the base creature already has a better speed.

Special Attacks: A vacuum element creature retains all the special attacks of the base creature, and also gains the following:

Suffocate (Ex): A vacuum element creature can move over a creature smaller than itself, engulfing them without provoking an attack of opportunity. They draw the breath from a creature inflicting an amount of damage indicated in the table below. A victim must make a Fortitude save every round they are engulfed, to avoid taking damage. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Special Qualities: A vacuum element creature retains all of the base creature’s special qualities and also gains the following:

Darkvision 60 feet

Damage Reduction (Ex): They gain DR based on the table below. If the base creature already has damage reduction, use the better of the two.If the base creature has one of the special qualities already, use the better one.

Transparent (Ex): A vacuum element creature is hard to identify even under ideal conditions, and it takes a DC 15 Spot check to notice one. Those who walk into one unnoticed instantly take damage from their suffocate attack.

Abilities: Dexterity +4.

Skills: Same as base creature. If intelligence is at least 4, it speaks Auran.

Environment: Quasi-elemental plane of vacuum.

Challenge Rating: HD 3 or less as base creature; HD 4 to 7 as base creature +1; HD 8+ or more, as base creature +2

Alignment: Usually neutral.
