Mineral Element Creatures

Mineral Element Creatures are most at home in the Quasi-elemental Plane of Mineral or other similar places, they could also be found in the Positive Energy Plane or the Plane of Earth. Their form resembles that of their material counterparts. They are entirely composed of various minerals some precious and semi-precious materials that make them look like crystalline.

Creating a Mineral Element Creature Mineral element is an inherited template that can be added to any corporeal creature of the types: aberration, animal, dragon, fey, giant, humanoid, magical beast, monstrous humanoid, plant or vermin. A mineral element creature uses all of the base creature’s stats unless otherwise noted. Do not recalculate the creature’s hit dice, BAB and so on.

Type: The creature’s type changes to elemental and it gains the earth subtype.

Armor Class: Natural armor bonus increases by +4

Special Attacks: A mineral element creature retains all the base creature's special attacks, and also gains the following.

Augmented Critical (Ex): Either the claws and teeth of a mineral element creature are really sharp, or their slamming appendage is studded with really sharp spikes. In either case their threat range with their natural attacks increase to 18-20, and the damage they can inflict from critical hits also increase to triple. Use the better of the values if the base creature has a similar ability.

Special Qualities: A mineral element creature retains all of the base creature’s special qualities and also gains the following:

Darkvision 60 feet

Damage Reduction (Ex): They gain DR based on the table below. If the base creature already has damage reduction, use the better of the two.

If the base creature has one of the special qualities already, use the better one.

Energy Resistance (Ex): A mineral element creature gains resistance to cold, fire and lightning damage as indicated in the table below.

Sonic Vulnerability (Ex): A mineral element creature takes an additional +50% damage from all sonic damage attacks.

Abilities: Con +2, Dex -2.

Skills: Same as base creature. If intelligence is at least 4, it speaks Terran.

Environment: Quasi-elemental plane of mineral.

Challenge Rating: HD 3 or less as base creature; HD 4 to 7 as base creature +1; HD 8+ or more, as base creature +2

Alignment: Usually neutral.

Level Adjustment: As base creature +5.
