Wukong Staff

When found, the wukong staff appears as an ordinary length of wood, usually plain oak or rattan. It is capped at both ends with iron and radiates a mild aura of alteration magic.

It functions as a +1 quarterstaff but its full power becomes evident when wielded by someone with acrobatic or martial arts skills. In the hands of such a wielder, the staff gains the ability to grow to nearly any length on command. It can also shrink for easy storage. In addition, the wielder can hold onto the top of the staff and rise with it. The staff remains set and stable no matter how long it grows, allowing the wielder to rise high in the air.
