Khaasta Monster Levels

Khaasta develop swiftly both physically and mentally, and often venture out on their own before they are fully mature. Many find a niche for themselves out in the Planes and, with typical khaasta practicality and lack of sentimentality, never return to their families.

The following abilities and level progression are based on the PSCS racial traits for khaasta, and allow them to be used as Player Characters from 1st level. As with other 'monster classes' it is strictly up to the DM's discretion if they will allow 1 - 6 level khaasta's to take levels of regular classes before they have finished their advancement as a monster.

Khaasta Regional Feats

The following feats are available to members of the Khaasta race, available using the bonus feats aquired at 1st, 3rd, and 6th level. They may well represent minor sub-breeds of the khaasta race, or a lineage that includes some other creature.

Amphibeous

The character is particularly well adapted to life in the water. They gain a +10 bonus to their Swim and can hold their breath for three times longer than a normal character.

Bite Bite

The khaasta has a particularly large maw and fangs. Its bite does 2d3 damage instead of 1d4.

Burst of Speed

Prerequisites: Con 13+

The character can put on a sudden burst of speed, lasting a few seconds. The character can double their current speed for a number of rounds per day equal to their CON bonus.

Gorging

The khaasta can gorge itself on food, eating several days' worth in a single sitting in order to store up nurishment. The character can eat a number of days food equal to his Constitution score, and will not need to eat again during that period. Unfortunately the gorging process leaves the khaasta bloated and drowsy for a number of hours equal to the days of food eaten. This effects the character like a Slow spell.

Taste The Air

The character can 'smell' the air about him/her using their tongue, and this grants a limited version of the Scent ability. It is identical to this in all respects except that the detection range is 1/3 of normal and when Tracking by 'taste' the character suffers a -5 penalty.

Thick Hide

The character's natural armour bonus increases by +1
