These canines are always of dark pigmentation with occasionally red eyes.

Whilst moderately intelligent they do not speak to normal people, finding them too ordered to understand. Chaos Hounds speak in their own scrambled language. These creatures roam the wilds of Limbo and are sometimes found in Pandemonium as well as Sigil (possibly imported).

Combat

The chaos hound does not usually attack people as it is not overly aggressive. However, it would not hesitate to defend its pups or itself.

Chaos Shield (Su): The chaos hound's life amongst the swirling maelstrom of Limbo implies it is accustomed to surviving its warping influence. In effect the Chaos Hound gets a +2 circumstance Bonus to AC against missile weapons when on any plane which is strongly chaos-aligned (e.g. Limbo) as it erects a weak barrier around itself. This is only effective against missile weapons as melee attacks come too fast for the hound to react.

Immunities (Ex): They are immune to all mind-affecting effects, like charm and confusion.

Improved Grab (Ex): If a chaos hound hits with both claw attacks, it latches on and can rake its victim.

Rake (Ex): Melee attack bonus +5, damage 1d4+1.

Sneak Attack (Ex): Whenever a chaos hound's opponent is denied its Dexterity bonus to armor class, the chaos hound can inflict an extra 1d6 extra damage.

Habitat/Society

Chaos Hounds have a loose clan system ruled by a Packmaster (Str 18, Int 8, Wis 12 of Large size and 6HD). If the leader is killed either by being challenged or through battle with enemies, he is replaced by the victor or the eldest son of the clan. Chaos Hounds see each other as a means to survive and get on within the boundaries of neutrality and chaos. Chaos Hound pups are sometimes captured by particularly insane chaosmen who try to train them. Since they are not truly animals, all Handle Animal checks have their DCs increased by +5. Hounds reared this way are fanatically loyal to their chaosman master, dying to protect him if needed.

Ecology

Chaos Hounds are strictly carnivorous but will eat plants if desperate. They live for approximately 50 years and never leave the pack unless expelled by the ruler. Chaos Hound pelts are worth about 50 gp each.

nice but cr 2 ? oh come now! if your party kill this and i gave you 600xp's to split, i'd be split. cr 3, it hits first and twice with +5 the dam 2d4+6 av 10. 5pts less than ogre but you have a shot at the rake. let alone the sneak. two chances to go first and you cant sneak on it. it might not be agressive but that doesnt lower cr. id prefer to fight an ogre than this speedy with alertness, plus ac 18 on a ranged. gives us the ogre please. init +8 is worth a 1 cr almost by its self

But then a Worg has twice as many hitpoints, is faster (outside of Limbo), more intelligent, can use the trip attack to incapacitate foes. Yet this guy is still only CR2.

This beast only has +2 AC against RANGED attacks and half the hitpoints. Sure it might act first (high initiative), but against half the quick creatures in Limbo like the Githzerai (+6 Dex) and Slaadi (which are just aggressive sods and therefore probably the chaos hounds mostly likely natural predator) they have to act first or die.
