By casting this spell, the cleric surrounds himself with dark, swirling mists of pure dread. He becomes fear incarnate. This spell has 3 effects:

  1. All creatures within 15 feet from the cleric suffer a -4 morale penalty on attacks and saving throws. There is no save against this effect. This is otherwise similar to a blackguard's aura of despair. This spell affects allies as well as foes.
  2. All creatures within 30 feet of the caster who gaze at him must succeed at a Will save, or suffer the following effects depending on their HD:     Less than 4HD: The creature dies of fright.     Less than 8HD: The creature is paralyzed by fear for 1d10 minutes.     Less than 12HD: The creature is panicked for 2d4 rounds.     12 or more: The creature becomes afraid for 1d4 rounds.Treat this as a gaze attack, except that the cleric cannot take a standard action to target a creature during his round. The creature only needs to save once against this affect. This spell affects allies as well as foes.
  3. With a touch attack, the cleric can make a creature make a Fortitude save or die of fright. This use ends and discharges the spell.
