The Frost Salamander

Author: Rasgon "It's a great little inn, but it's not even as warm as it sounds." The Frost Salamander is an inn in the lower ward catering to cold-loving creatures. It's built, at great expense, on a floor of Eternal Ice and contains facilities for gelugons, amnizu, gehreleths from Porphatys and Agathys, creatures from Mungoth and Krangath, the planes of Ice and Ash, Jotenheim, and arctic material worlds. The locals recommend the ice-brewed beer. It's excellent. Permanent residents of the Frost Salamander include the proprietor, an elder yeti named Gob (Pr/male yeti/Transcendent Order/CN). Gob was a tale-spinner among his people, exiled for seducing his chieftain's (very) young daughter. Today he doles his stories out to creatures from all over the cold planes. His stories are improvised; they flow from an unknown space inside Gob that he doesn't think about too much. One long-time guest of the inn is S'orth, a young immoth. S'orth freezes the words of passerby only occasionally, but he can still be a reliable source for the Sigilian word-traders, who deal with him regularly. Why S'orth left the Plane of Ice is unknown, but it might have something to do with the scar along his left arm, which glows a deep red.
