Mempa's Biting Ring
| Mempa was a mage who was obssessed with the thought of having her magic items lost or burgled while she was sleeping or otherwise incapacitated. While the vast majority of her magical items were inseparable from her corpse and were thus buried with her, some of her weaker items--early experiments perhaps--were left behind and remain in the world of the living. Mempa's biting ring, whose powerful aura protects it's wearer from harm, is one such item. Once placed on one's finger it bites down and holds on so tenaciously that it is nigh impossible to remove the ring from the 'bitten' digit. Only a remove curse, or removal of the digit will allow it to be taken away.When worn, this ring grants a +2 deflection bonus to armour class; the result of a field of force that the ring generates around the wearer. The slippery nature of the force also grants the wearer a +4 circumstance bonus to escape artist checks. |
