It is ironic for a goddess of hope to die. Even more to be resurrected by the baatezu.

She was a mere saint of a culture on the Prime that was enslaved and destroyed and so, as their hope died, so did her.

When the lawful fiends tried to slide her divine mass to Baator for manufacture of special weapons, she had a sudden glimpse of her fate and changed herself with whatever power she had into the Black Orchid.

The baatezu took pains to sustain her and managed to corrupt her to their cause, partially. She now provides human-plant hybrids to the baatezu for their dark designs and has managed to reawaken her meek divine might. She has been afflicted with madness, schizophrenia. She parted in three aspects: often the hard Breeding Pool that slumbers the consciences of mortals, sometimes the cold plant empty of meaning and rarely the once pious knightly lady of bliss.

Her proxies are the mandragoras, sentient plants that are created by mages or druids. Cassandra has a story of her own, however. An arthurea aasimon, bearing both the tint of ultimate black and the streak of divine light. She has godly strength flowing through her veins, by the hands of her arcanaloth father that, in his arabesque plots, seduced a young female astral deva and killed her when the child was born. However, that was a very special gift she bore, for the goddess her mother served was in the baatezu's possession now. She was made a proxy and using the powers over the plants that her father fed her psychically, she joined the baatezu in the Black Orchid, an mandragora twice hybrid.

Power and proxy keep their roles, but the time for reckoning will come. Whatever designs the cosmos bore upon her, will depend on the flickering of a candle.
