Gloom Dust

Carnifex's picture

Gloom Dust is a strange poison, a gray powder distilled from the essence of the Gray Waste itself. Anyone exposed to the powder is affected as if they were exposed to the Waste itself; their senses become dulled and depressed to what is going on around them, as the powder temporarily leeches emotion out of them.

The physical nature of the poison, as a powder, makes it a favoured tool for assassins and thieves; it can be blown from a concealed place or left to be carried on the wind to guards, who will then inhale the powder and, without realizing, become dulled and inattentive; allowing the knight of the post to pass by or approach with less chance of being seen. Sometimes it can even reduce targets to a comatose slumber.

Good work! I also use sliding DCs in my games and so have no personal gripe with them.

Inhilatioin.

Primary, -4 to listen and spot DC 18
Secondary, Sleep DC 15

This sound good? I know it's a little unorthodox to have the DCs change between primary and secondary, but it did say that it only made people fall asleep sometimes. It seems like there should be a higher chance of success for the listen/spot penalties.
