Celestial Etherscope

This device appears magical, but it involves no enchantment. The etherscope comprises a complex set of brassbound lenses, tubes, and glass vials filled with coloured liquids. The whole thing is about 2 ft. by 1 ft. by 1 ft., and is extremely delicate (hardness 0).

By looking at light refracted through the lenses and coloured liquids, a character with the Planology skill can attempt to discern the tides of fortune on a particular plane. Only a specially trained planar craftsman can construct an etherscope. Masterwork etherscopes are possible, but must be custom-made.
