The capture hood is a large leather sack with dozens of small pin holes that is thrown over a person's head and drawn tight around the person's waist. It effectively pins the captured person's arms to their sides. Guide lines can be tied to the bottom of the hood to drag somebody along, or restrain a particularly strong capture.
