Aura Contrast

From The Planar Psionics Netbook--

This power, a lesser version of aura sight, enables the manifester to determine whether or not a body has a contrasting aura compared to the plane that they're on.

The mainfester does not actually see the aura, but they can make out the fact that the target's aura if different from the plane. For example, a manifester can use this on Arborea to detect that a lawful good paladin is not chaotic good. If the aura is the same, the manifester learns that the person's aura matches that of the plane. On planes with three alignments (i.e. Arcadia, the Beastlands, Bytopia, etc.), this power can detect either component of them. For example, the manifester could tell that someone was lawful good or lawful neutral person on Arcadia because of the contrast in their auras.

The manifester may only examine one target per round with this power, unlike with aura sight. This is because this power provides much fainter outlines.
