Planetouched, Genasi (Mineral)

Personality: Most sods would think a being from the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Mineral would be a little on the hard, unfeeling side. After all, not only is the plane comprised of stones that are harder than rock in most cases, but also those stones are also usually razor sharp. A cutter has to be extremely thick-skinned -- in the literal sense -- to survive even a day on the Plane.

But canny bloods know that things don't always turn out in the obvious, logical way, especially on the planes. And so it is with Mineral Genasi. Inheritors of the Glittering Stones are singularly large and imposing -- larger than even their Earth Genasi cousins -- and they've got a heart to match. Inheritors of the Glittering Stones are very altruistic. They don't generally believe in giving money to the poor. (While sometimes the do.) Mineral Gensai believe along the lines of "Don't give a starving man a fish if you can teach them to fish on their own." Mineral Genasi are around so much jink that they don't see the point in hoarding it. Most Mineral Genasi are generous cutters. There are a few with a dark side.

Physical Description: Mineral Genasi are alot like their Earth Genasi cousins. Mineral Genasi are large, thick and imposing. Their features are sharp and angular, like the gemstones from their native plane. They will have one or more of the following traits:
  • Rough, dark brown skin or smooth, dark gray skin.
  • A few small (half-inch diameter) crystalline stones of various colors embedded in their flesh (these crumble to worthless dust if somehow removed from the Mineral Genasi)
  • Eyes that seem faceted (like a cut diamond)
  • Relations: Mineral Genasi have tolerable relations with the denizens of the Mineral plane. Probably better than most of the half-breed Genasi. Those who don't go out in the planes can live in communities of mineral elemental races. Outside the Inner Planes, the Mineral Gensai get along with most of the good aligned bloods.
    Alignment: Lawful Good
Lands: Some Mineral Genasi do live on the Plane of Mineral, but many go out of the Inner Planes to do good deeds.
Religion: Mineral Genasi don't select any particular deities, rarely do they worship gods of avarice.

Adventurers: Usually the reason Mineral Gensai adventure is because they encounter some race coming to the Mineral to gather jink. It typically makes the Genasi realize that they have it much better than other berks. They go out to help the needy, and try to understand the reason for greed.

  • Mineral Genasi have a SR of 20 to all spells (or spell-like effects), which would turn 'em to stone. Standard saving throws will still be applicable if the magic resistance fails.
