M\'Be

Anonymous's picture
Personality: The M'be resemble human children, around 6 years old, with a skin so dark brown it reflects Arborea stars in the night, usually wearing few if any clothes, preferring robes and skirts.Detailed information can be found here.Fallen M'be can be sad, unsure, frightened, but they do not lose hope. Like the stars they burn while they can, with no regard for the blackness of the sky. Their hearts are stronger and more stable than those of elves, their passions are deep and serene. A M'be in turmoil is like the fury of the asuras. Hopelessness or anger is a characteristic of the evil ones. Others shun violence and never take up weapons. Physical Description: Fallen M'be do not age as long as they don't turn to evil. Other than that they are just like 6-year-old humans with a brilliant black skin like the night of Arborea. Even though they do not age, they are still vulnerable to aging effects once fallen and can live as long as elves until they disappear in the forests of Arborea.
Relations: Eladrin are friendly to all non-corrupt mbe. While in Arborea they go far to avoid even the strays to come to harm. Although they resemble children, they are treated with respect on the planes. Planars of all kinds know of so many life cycles different than their own. They are very rarely by others than eladrin and fey, but easily get along with any race with their empathic powers.
Alignment: Lawful Good
Lands: Their hidden lands usually are accessible only through small passages or in deep valleys, far below the landscape level of Olympus. In these lands many exotic animals still exist, like the rainbow beetle, sparkling green moths and all kinds of birds full of colorful tails. It is not unusual for a traveler to find untouched food and drink left in the forest, dolls, but there are no houses. Many would come to hunt in these lands, but the nature spirits inhabiting these lands are some of the oldest and canniest. Outside Arborea they live in their power's realms only.
Religion: Aside from their own pantheon, the fallen ones typically worship the gods of Tir Na Og, Ptah, Ishtar and Shekinester, depending on the courses their lives take.
Language: M'be write in the M'be alphabet. Fallen mbe have only written languages, their language has no spoken version. They have to learn how to speak any languages they knew beforehand. However, their empathy power helpsthem understand spoken concepts more readily. They have eladrin as a bonuslanguage.
Names: M'be adopt names of things they like and are more emotionallyattached. Fruit, You, Mbo-Ya, Shiere, Dog and Cloud are all acceptablenames, but they don't usually keep them for long. However they have anothername, a written one based on their own language that can be heard only ifplayed in an instrument.

Female Names: See 'Names', above.

Adventurers: The starchildren are always seeking something out of their realms, be it fun, friends, another place in the multiverse or merely a new necklace. They are also looking to construct new identities, inspired in the archetypes they see in the planes, to fight against the corrupting quality of knowledge on spirit. Many become Sensates, Ring-Givers and Godsmen, rarely ever they join other factions.
Racial Traits:
  • -2 Strength, +2 Wisdom and +2 Charisma

  • Mbe are outsiders (Chaos, Good) and cannot be raised or resurrected, although a wish or miracle can restore them to life. Mbe have low-light vision, instead of darkvision, a heritage from their lives in the stars with Mbo-Ya.

  • Mbe have a +8 racial bonus to Sense Motive checks due to their empathic capabilities and +2 racial bonus to Diplomacy (on the Outer planes) and Move Silently checks.
