Personality: Half-kytons are born of a human or elven woman who survived being raped by a kyton (a lawful-evil, chain-wielding devil described on pages 48 and 51 of the Monster Manual). A kyton cares nothing for his offspring, so a half-kyton child is usually raised according to the customs of his/her mother’s people.Half-kytons are raised to hate full-blooded kytons, but like their kyton fathers, they innately love anything relating to chains. They tend to prefer weapons made from chains (such as chain whips or nunchucks) to more conventional weapons such as swords. If they wear armor, they often prefer some type of chain mail. They tend to be somewhat aggressive, and often may become Paladins or Fighters so that they can seek out and destroy full-blooded devils (especially kytons).By: Ian FriedrichImported from a previous version of Planewalker.com
Physical Description: Half-kytons look human, with gaunt features and a dark complexion. They appear rather mysterious, sometimes even menacing, to those who do not know them. They often carry or wear chains, but they almost never wear as many chains as full-blooded kytons.
Relations: Due to the fact that their fathers are kytons, they are generally outcasts who most people do not entirely trust. As such, they tend to get along well with gypsies, mercenaries, troupes of entertainers, or other nomadic groups.
Alignment: Lawful Good
Lands: Half-kytons do not have any lands of their own. They occasionally stay in a human village for a short time, but never for very long.
Religion: Half-kytons can worship any deity that is not lawful-evil.
Language: Half-kytons are born knowing how to speak Infernal, and they usually learn Common at an early age. They may also learn to speak other languages that are common in their area.
Names: Half-kytons are usually given similar names to others in the society that they were born into.

Adventurers: Half-kytons often go off on an adventure simply because they feel unwanted in their villages. Other times, they work as mercenaries. Generally, if they have a chance to kill kytons or other devils, they take that chance, sometimes at great personal risk. If they are familiar with planewalking, they may enlist in the Blood War, just to get the chance to fight against devils.
Racial Traits:
  • Medium-size: As medium-sized creatures, kintu get no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Half-kyton base speed is 30 ft.
  • Half-kytons are proficient with chains, whips, and chained weapons (such as nunchucks).
  • +2 racial bonus to Craft skills involving metalworking: Half-kytons retain some of the innate metalworking skills possessed by their fathers.
  • +2 racial bonus on Climb checks when climbing a chain: Half-kytons have innate skill in handling chains, although not as much as a full-blooded kyton would.
  • +2 racial bonus to attack rolls when using chain-based weapons.
  • -2 racial penalty to attack rolls when using non chain-based weapons (except whips).
  • Automatic languages: Infernal and Common. Bonus languages: any.
  • Favored Class: Any.
