Dwelling mainly on Stygia, the fifth layer of Baator, the amnizu are an unseemly and gruesome breed of devil.Standing at a scant 4 feet in height, their brows are elongated and their heads devoid of all hair. Both their arms and legs are stubby, however a pair of large leathery wings help assist their movement.The face of an amnizu is not dis-similar to that of a pug dog, with small blunt noses, large eyes and mouth filled to the brim with sharp, jagged teeth.
CombatAmnizu consider themselves to be a part of the royalty of Baator, and hence believe themselves to be "above" combat - preferring instead to leave this menial task to lesser devils. If they should be reduced to combat however, they weild formidable power.Touch of the Styx (Su): An amnizu’s touch channels energy from the River Styx. With a successful touch attack, the victim takes 2d4 points of energy (force) damage, and must succeed at a Will save (DC 16) or forget one whole day’s memory.Spell-like Abilities (Sp): At will — animate dead, charm person,unholy blight, suggestion, and teleport without error (self and 50 lbs. of objects only). 3/day — fireball. 1/day — imprisonment. The spells function as if cast by a 9th-level sorcerer (Save DC 12 + spell level)Summon Baatezu (Sp): Once per day amnizu may attempt to summon 2-20 abishai (see Monsters of Faerun) with a 50% chance of success, or 1-8 erinyes with a 30% chance of success.
Habitat/SocietyAs mentioned, amnizu enjoy a nobility of sorts. It is their desire to advance and the inbred fear of the pit fiends that makes them obey any orders they are given.However if given the opportunity, an amnizu will order it's minons to attack anything and everything that falls under the control of the Dark Eight.0
EcologyThe amnizu are responsible for protecting Baator from invaders borne on the River Styx, hence their imprisonment power.
