Planescape/Star•Drive Crossover Campaign - Play By Post on Myth Weavers

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but Behind the Scenes seemed like it's only for games being run here.

Planescape/Star•Drive: Renaissance is one of my White Whales-- huge, ambitious campaigns that I've been trying to make work for years. The absence of a common system, and then the absence of mutual fans, has kept this one out of my grasp for going on twenty years.

Now, I've got two systems I can run this in-- I can use Cortex Prime, which I think is better suited for Planescape than D&D, or I've figured out a way to unify D&D 3.X with d20 Modern in a way that can support both sides of this campaign.

Both sides, because it starts out as two separate campaigns: players control a PC in each setting, and the games run parallel as their respective settings slowly intersect and then merge. They have to solve the mystery of why the Star•Drive universe has been isolated from the multiverse for millennia, and why it's slowly reintegrating itself, to prevent devastation on a Multiversal scale.

If this sounds good to you, check out the rest of the details at: https://www.myth-weavers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=43143&tg=82003

Welcome to the boards,

Welcome to the boards, FaerieGodfather! I don't think anyone minds where a post like this goes as long as it's approximately accurate, especially given the level of traffic we get these days.

My go-to system for blending high-tech and fantasy is GURPS, but if you figure you've got one worked out, I hope it does well for you.

Thanks. Cortex is becoming my go-to for a lot of things because it allows the GM to decide the degree to which physical and psychological factors influence degrees of success.

I should note that no experience is necessary-- I am perfectly willing to teach both the system and the Star•Drive setting to anyone interested in playing.

I'm interested as you're willing to teach the system - I will admit without that I'll just be a burden.

I promise, teaching the system will be easy. Please sign-up for M-W and post your characters (two each); I'm hoping if someone breaks the seal, other people will be tempted.

Let me know if you need help coming up with Star•Drive characters.

Thanks! I am hoping for six players, but I can live with four.

Any fewer than that, I'm going to have to reconsider whether or not I can run this game.

I've always found that a small number of players is actually best for an online game. Things are paced very differently from a table game.

The longest online campaign I ever ran was over a chat system and involved three players and me; longest I was ever in was also chat, and had 4 players and the GM.

He says he's in, so that's at least two. We'll post in the other request on the other site.

Hopefully that gets a few more people interested!

Been delayed by housemoving, but as soon as I finish the Nation/Faction primers, I'll be ready to start another advertisement.

After that, it depends on if I get enough players.
